Course Description

Arts for the Blues is an evidence-based creative group psychotherapy model developed by Edge Hill University and the University of Salford following the Medical Research Council Guidelines for complex interventions. It is used with children and young people, adults and older people in hospitals, schools and community organisations and very positive outcomes. Attending this experiential training, you will be introduced to the Arts for the Blues model including:

o    important theoretical influences and key ingredients,

o    group theory and group phases

o    research evidence and important evaluation practices.

You will also explore the model and develop your own arts practice within the framework provided by Arts for the Blues. Following this two-day training, and if you want to work towards becoming an Arts for the Blues facilitator, you will be invited to run an Arts for the Blues group which will need to be supervised by an Arts for the Blues supervisor.
