A course designed to teach the theory and practical skills needed for safe and competent Spirometry practitioners.

Course Description

This course is designed to teach practitioners the theory, concepts, and the practical skills of spirometry. Spirometry is a key test in all respiratory diagnostics and is incorporated into all the diagnostic pathways. It is important that this test is carried out safely and by competent practitioners to avoid any patient harm or misdiagnosis. There is a need to increase the amount of people trained in diagnostic spirometry as the waiting times exceed 1.5 years in some areas.

 

This course is aimed at all audiences and can come with or without the Association for Respiratory Technology (ARTP) registration.

 

The option with the registration will include the ARTP payment for the qualification and support following the course to complete the portfolio, OSCE and MCQ.

 

It is a two-day course (1.5 for those who choose not to take the ARTP registration option).
